At Addiction Crucifixion Fellowship we spend a lot of time discussing step 3! For decades secular 12-step addiction recovery programs have been misleading millions of followers in step 3 by suggesting that they can choose “a god of their own understanding” to lead them out of their addictions! This idea is pure heresy to a God who says in Deuteronomy 11:16 (KJV), “Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;” Alcoholics and addicts need the only One True Living God, Jesus Christ, who can answer prayer and perform the miracles we need to be set free from the bondage satan has on us. 1Timothy 2:5 (KJV) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; John 8:32, & 36, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 36, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
